TUNDRA reminds us that whatever season of hardship someone may be rooted in, the need for one’s community to act as watchman and lifeline is crucial. We all will come to a point or points in our lives where the ground will fall out from beneath us. In those times, the person in peril may not have the wherewithal or capacity to keep herself from going over the edge. At the same time, a community, a circle of relationships, cannot passively hope for the best; it must stand alert and be bold to reach out, even when the extended help goes unrecognized. Too, if we find ourselves at the precipice of despair, our acceptance of our need for others is essential for survival.
